The Horseman of Covid-19
So I'm sure I'm not the only one that sees this, am I? This whole Covid-19 thing is just the four horseman riding in to say howdy do to you. I mean think about it.
First there's war, pointing towards this whole politic war called presidential elections. Trump wants to retake office, which I have my own opinions about. But there's people fighting against that, as they have the right to do. But either way, the questionable comments and bills Trump passed during his presidency has lead to a lot of faith lost in the overall american population. People all over the country are just calling him a nerfhearder and begging for the next guy to take office. While others are praising him like the deity he wishes he could be. Isn't two opposing factions, fighting for the same position, while disregarding the casualties as necessity.....what's that word again, oh...WAR?!?
Then there's plague. I mean, hello...isn't this one obvious?? This one I genuinely feel was an accident that could have been prevented. A saying I live by is "Sith happens!" In this sense, I believe that that's exactly what happened to china. Unless they were trying to kill off parts of their population, like current day Hitlers, I highly doubt China created this virus intentionally. What I do think is that our fearless leader saw this as a way to win the war. He turned a blind eye to the whole contagion, taking a Darwin view of things. Survival of the fittest, Covid edition.
Next up we have famine. Now, this one may be a little harder to recognize. Or maybe not. Most people see famine as the lack of food thus leading to starvation. But in this case, it's more of a shortage. A shortage of human contact and interaction. Unless you are an agoraphobic introvert, we all need socialization. Technology does fit us with a work around to the whole social distancing rule, but it just isn't the same. Families are being kept apart, social gatherings are being canceled, physical signs of affection are now viewed as hazardous. According to Maslow's Hierarchy, physical affection and social interaction are a basic human need. The absence of these needs can lead to things much worse than this invasive virus.
Which leads me to my finale, Death. There is the obvious, as of today there have been 154,350 deaths worldwide. However, another definition of death is "a damaging or destructive state of affairs". In that sense, Covid has killed marriages, friendships, and family ties. It has murdered our job market and slaughtered the economy. Theme parks such as Disney are facing over $500 million in lost currency because of it's unprecedented shut down. Which leads cities like Anaheim, CA and Orlando, FL to suffer greatly. Everything around us is like a giant spider web. All integrated together, fine tuned, and carefully created to bear the weight of each other. Covid has effortlessly destroyed that web. Leaving only strands to flutter to the ground, trying hard to catch something and survive.
Do I think this whole virus is a government conspiracy? No, I can honestly say I don't. What I can say is that perhaps our government took advantage of a deadly situation, and it got out of hand. I believe that the actions of our leaders have lead to the apocalypse. Only time will tell now how detrimental this Apocalypse will truly be.
